This covers a simple product: one item with one price. Products that come in options such as sizes or colours are set up differently; ask us if you need those.

Start a new product
Go to Products → Add New.

Name and description
Type the product name at the top. Write the full description in the main box below it.

Price
In the Product data box, on the General tab:
- Regular price: the normal price.
- Sale price (optional): a reduced price. Click Schedule to set when the sale starts and ends.

Stock
On the Inventory tab:
- SKU (optional): your own product code.
- Tick Track stock quantity and enter how many you have, if the shop keeps count. Otherwise set Stock status to In stock or Out of stock.

Short description
Scroll down to Product short description. This is the summary shown next to the price, so keep it to a sentence or two.

Images
- Product image (right-hand side): the main photo.
- Product gallery: extra photos.

Categories
Tick the right categories in the Product categories box on the right.

Publish
Click Publish. To check it first, click Preview, or Save Draft to finish it later.
